Enfinite (formerly WCSB Power) acquired and built this 20 Megawatt (MW) lithium-ion battery storage project featuring TESLA Megapack battery technology, 2km south of Rycroft, Alberta. When eReserve1 was launched in 2020, it was hailed as Canada’s largest battery energy storage system. This pioneering project facilitates the storage and controlled distribution of intermittent energy through the ATCO-owned Rycroft 730S Substation. It is the first of three related projects located throughout Alberta.
