Project Description
Enfinite is planning to construct a 100 MW Battery Storage Facility (BSF) and substation approximately 10 km northeast of High River, Alberta. The facility will be located on a 10 acre portion of 160 acres of land and will be connected to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System through the AltaLink 237S Foothills substation through a new 240 kV transmission line.

Major Equipment:
The battery storage facility and substation expect to have the following major equipment (all subject to change throughout project design):
- 105 – battery modules with inverters
- 27 – Medium Voltage (MV)transformers
- Effective grounding equipment for the bus.
- Fused disconnects to protect the downstream transformer.
- 1 – 240 kV – Medium Voltage(MV) power transformer.
- 1 – Medium Voltage (MV) bus along with circuit breakers, disconnects and station service transformer.
- 240 kV bus hardware including circuit breaker and disconnects.
- 240 kV and Medium Voltage(MV) potential transformers.
- Oil containment for the power transformer.
- A new control building to house protection and control systems for the new equipment in the substation as well as the BESS site.
- 2 – 40 -foot storage containers and one prefabricated office trailer, with at least one non-portable toilet.

2569059 Alberta Inc. (Enfinite) has filed its Rule 007 Facility Application for the proposed Laramide 100-Megawatt (MW) battery energy storage facility (the Project) with the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) on March 14, 2024. The application has been assigned Proceeding Number 28906.
If you wish to review the application and associated reports filed with the AUC, you can access them through the AUC website at www.auc.ab.ca. You will be required to set up an account and, once set up, you can search for the filing using the proceeding number.
